Come On Over And Do The Twist

bleurrrgh, I'm ill and I've had the dreaded blog lethargy, just no interest in doing it.

But, here I am, too under the weather to pose but happy to show you all my latest purchases

Broderie Anglais blouse £3.99, ASOS lace cami £1.99, Lempicka book £1.49 (wanted one for ages) all from Oxfam. Cutwork blouse £1 from Towersey Festival

Last Saturday Mike, his brother and I went round the corner to look at the local garage sale

Despite some misplaced letters and some greengrocer's apostrophes it was really good

I spotted this from a distance and cried to the stallholder "how much is the doll, I must have the doll!"
She was 50p, bargain. From the same people I also got some 70s sheets and pillow cases
I teamed them up with this romantic 80s duvet cover which was £4 in a charity shop

This superbly soft Aran jumper was £1 from the same people

30s chinz cup was part of a set til the poor owner smashed it when picking it up, the cup was fine so I got it for free! The dog draft excluder was 50p, Mike spotted it for me.
I'm going to add some poppers to the vintage sewing bag so I can use it as a handbag - charity shop
Lovely for winter, this Monsoon moss velvet dress still had all the tags on - Oxfam

You may remember a comment I made last year about no wanting to look like a fat slag in a short skirt? , I don't want to look like a fat slag in a crop top either. I've discovered that by wearing high waisted  skirts or jeans I can totally get away with it - and if a little bit of midriff peeks out occasionally, so what?
These two crop tops are fantastic, the rose one is from ebay and the My Little Pony one is from Primark

Lucy and I have been swapping art in the post, she sent me this....
She dubbed it PMS art, I agree. And I love it

I've been collecting old bottles for years, this one I couldn't seem to get clean, so I decided just to decoupage it (I bought the bottle stopper in an antiques shop on holiday)

I bought these 90s Levis in a chazza for £7 - expensive!
The Tiger was on a pair of Primark pants I bought for Mike, but, somehow, they were ripped, so I snaffled the print before he chucked them out.

Sweetpeas I grew

oh and I'm finally appreciating Nirvana after all these years

First!!
And I needed to be the first one to comment on this post named after one of my favourite song!
I really love everything!! And even if I lost my interest in blogging I haven't lost the interest in reading your blog, so I'm super happy for this post!! I didn't know that you found that divine doll at your "nieghboor's"sale! Never judge a person by his /her grammar!i also loved the green velvet dress, I do really dig blue and green velvet, hope to Find a similar one! The cropped top are really nice and it's a great advice to wear them with high waisted skirts, I love high waist!
Hope you'll get well soon!
Love xxxxxxxxx

Still got it love, even if you've had a temporary row with blogging!
Love that doll, she's just like that Bradley doll of mine - can't imagine any of my posh neighbours' having anything so wonderfully tacky, it's all Naff Kidston and Hell-an' Bridgwater round these parts!
Fantastic bargain on the Levis and you're dead right, a crop top's perfect with high waists, eliminates that horrible bulge from tucking things in.
Lucy and your art is just brilliant and so are you. xxxxxx

How kind of you to buy me that lovely green frock! ;-P

Hope you are feeling better soon chick.

Hope yer feeling better, flower. I'm glad you nabbed the doll...I'd have insisted you buy her and 50p is a total bargain. They go for stupid money. I had about ten of the crinoline beauties when I was young. My gran put them in her posh display cabinet and then gave them to a jumble when I left home! Fair enough.
The green dress is gorgeous and I love your bottle. Keep yer eye out for postie, darling.

Creepy doll, creepy doll.

Sorry to hear you ill. Get well soon.

I do the crop top with high waist, too. It totally works and you don't have to be a skinny minnie to pull it off. The art from Lucy is cool and the tiger patch pants are badass.

All of your finds as always are wonderful I would happily steal them all! I can't wait to see you rock that amazing green dress, and those crop tops are adorable, I'm sure your going to look fabulous!!!

oh and It took me ages to appreciate Nirvana too, I think it was down to not wanting to like them because everyone did, being told I've got to like something just to be cool was not for me, now I can listen to them and kinda see what the fuss was about!

I hope you feel better soon, pet! If I were you I would spend the day snuggled up under that new 80's duvet cover and in your gorgeous new bed, thats sure to do the trick!!

I relate to having no interest in blogging. Sometimes it just seems too hard. I hope you feel better soon. I bet that velvet dress looks fabulous on.

Since I am fashionably late to the party, I can only hope that your illness has passed on its way to some unsuspecting colleague or friend.

Lempicka Love and a dolly to die for! "I must have the doll". Sounds like a line from Withnail and I.

Sweet peas have been one of the successes of the summer. Haven't they been heavenly? Of course your treasure trove is spectacular, as is all your crafting. xxxx

I love Tamara Lempicka and you are probably Little Edie's secret sister (I get the impression that you are a true artist soul) Wonderful.

Blah to being ill - hope you're feeling better soon! I do love seeing all the treasures you've found lately. I would have pounced upon the doll too - good score! The green velvet dress is going to look fab on you, as are the pretty crop tops.

Your and Lucy's art goes straight to my heart. I love it.
And although I may have a nauseatingly twee exterior sometimes, I am Nirvana in my heart. My dream would be to wake up playing guitar like that. Won't happen - no shortcuts sadly.
Finally, while I don't see you here, your presence is a most welcome blast. I hope you feel better SOON. Your finds are wonderful. I especially love your doll.

I have so missed your blogs. I love Lempicka too, I have a book on her by Claridge which isn't that good, except for the pictures of course. Love your ponies, tiger and cat.

Ugh, blog lethargy... tell me about it! I am glad you decided to share your treasures though. What could be better than a local garage sale. I have never seen one to this day. I love the Asos cami and the 50p doll and the 70's pillowcases. I also have a thing about misplaced apostrophes. Hope you feel better soon xxxxx

I know you're feeling better now cos I've seen you slutting it up in the Fairy King's Ring, but I'm glad you've not been too prolific cos I've been so rubbish and not read anyone for ages. And now I can attempt to catch up. Smashing purchases - and how could you not have always liked Nirvana??

I'm very sorry to have missed your birthday, I'm glad it was a good one and you were appropriately spoiled.
