Skylark, Have You Anything To Say To Me

Skylark, have you seen a valley green with spring
where my heart can go a journeying

over the shadows and the rain
to a blossom covered lane?

Faint as a Willo The Wisp, Crazy as a loon

Hat - The Vintage Festival
Sunglasses - Camden Market, with flowers added by me
Dress - Reduced from £20 to £12.75 in Sainsburys. I adore the button detail
Bangle - Second To None
Casket Basket   - Ebay
Shoes - Ebay

It's a great feeling when you mention something obscure to a friend and it turns out they love it too. This is what happened with the wicker lunch box, which was just a prop in Sherlock Holmes - The Red Headed League. Both Em, my spooky bitch partner and I had clocked this gem.

The Red Headed League - The Jeremy Brett Sherlock version is absolutely perfect. The production values in that series makes Downton look like Acorn Antiques

You look an absolute dream! We should hijack Vintage Life and get you on the cover, bunting, picnic hamper and all.
I can't believe that frock is Sainsbury's, the finish is superb ( can you tell I've just watched The Great British sewing Bee?)
Finished to perfection with that fabulous second To None bangle and your beatiful looks. xxxxx

You look fecking gorgeous.I could just sit down there for a bit of lunch. I'd bring my own basket of course! That is such a lovely frock. Love it all.
What spooky find will we have next?

Ooh, someone should do a Downton-Abbey-as-Acorn-Antiques spoof (Victoria Wood, obviously...) We could be in it - you can be Miss Babs and I'll be Miss Berta, new owners of Downton, running it as a country house hotel and antiques fair venue.

Ahem. Got carried away.

I would never in a million years have thought that gorgeous frock was from Sainsbury's, it's sooo pretty, beautiful print, and you look delicious in it. Perfect with that lovely bangle from Second to None, the picnic basket, and your newly-trimmed fringe! You're looking especially fetching peering out from among the bunting. That sounds like another Victoria Wood sketch...
I'd love to have a picnic with you, darling, lashings of bubbly and a snooze on the blanket afterwards, huzzah! xxxxx

You are a friggin vintage fox if I've ever seen one. These pictures are beautifully soft. Your dress is playful and girlie and your wicker bag a perfect pairing. tell me is it full of chocolates and your favorite lip gloss.

I love that the sun has finally arrived and you are out in it! Why let's take the dogs out and have a lil picnic? Stay beautiful sweetheart!

Am I sleeping or waking? This photoshoot is dreamy, what a beautiful atmosphere, each photo is so beautiful that makes any Downton Abby's set look dull and squalid. I love the dress and the sunglasses, you look beautiful as a wood nymph, I can imagine deers joining your picnic eating candies from your basket!
Love xxxxxxxx

LOVE IT! So has spring sprung?!

Now I've got that song stuck in my head, but that's OK. I will think of the vision of you in your floral splendour as I warble it all day!

That dress is awesome. I wish supermarkets here sold pretty dresses, then maybe I'd like doing the grocery shopping. I love the flowery sunglasses and the hat too. Is this the hat you weren't sure how to wear? Because I think it looks great like that.

Such pretty pics. I love the effects you've used. That dress is a beauty. It is hard to believe it came from Sainsburys! I love it that you love Jeremy Brett as much as me. Don't you just love the scene where Holmes and Watson crack up with maniacal laughter when Jabez Wilson has finished telling his tale of the Red Headed League! Priceless! :) xxxxxxxx

Hey Claire, you look gorgeous!!! the dress is adorable indeed and it fits you like a dream!
The casket basket - well, it does bring back memories... All the kids in my primary school brought their thermos with their lunch in one of those. I always wanted to have one... but as my grandparents lived 5 minutes away I always went home for lunch, so the dream of having a basket as well never came true. Now I want one again!
