Bad Taste Blonde

Sometimes when you try to dress well you only end up disappointed, so dressing badly is the only solution.

Visor - Jumble sale
Bolle Sunnies - Charity shop
Necklaces and Bracelets - Charity/Village fete/Garage sale/Second to None
Shirt - Flea Market
Waistcoat - Ebay
Leggings - Ebay
80s shoes - Charity shop

Today, after the worst driving lesson ever, I needed some trash to cheer me up.

I've also reblonded. Here's my bleach blond inspiration
Crysi de Milo, Debbie Harry, Sara and Patsy Stone

I've been trying my hand at decopage

This wonky but effective effort was done using super glue and clear varnish, to cover my sewing suitcase with this rather camp poster.

The small chest of drawers I keep my craft crap in was transformed from this...

to this!

Flippin 'eck I'm in a bit of a hair dilemna today (see over my gaff) so this post is right on the money. I've been meaning to ask you what colour your hair is naturally and what you use to bleach it? It always looks so perfectly trashy, i.e., Courtney Love as opposed to Gwyneth Paltry!

Anyhows, love the decoupage effort, especially the drawers. If I were you I'd decoupage the front plates too or paint them bright candy pink for maximum impact!!

PS. Sewed on my first collar today and its not too bad an effort! :) xxx

Bad taste dressing is the only way to go! No-one notices mediocrity!
Love the newly blonded hair and the inspiration! The pink leggings are fabularse and a denim waistcoat is a wardrobe essential!
You look fit to take on the world and your grumpy driving instructor!
The chest of drawers is a masterpiece and I love the camp chap on your suitcase, too.

Ha ha!!!! Love it, especially the daisyprint leggings and turquoise shoes! The decoupage is fabulous especially those drawers- I was thinking of doing something similar to my crafting drawers too but wasn't sure what to do about varnish- you say water and glue?X

You crack me up and you know I want those pink crazy ass pants!!!!! What happened during your driving test? keep at it!!!! I have to say that your decoupage on the drawers is jaw dropping mind blowing beautiful! I want it and now I must try it too! Do you think I could do that to my car? My house? I wish you were here for all my crazy food adventures, tonight another first for me Korean!!!!

You look bad-ass!! Love the outfit!!

Love your decopage stuff (one of my fav things to do) Good old elmer's glue or white school glue slightly watered down is cheap and easy to use for decopage. Use an old credit card or such to scrape across the picture after glueing to get out bubbles and smooth.

Sweet visor!!! Bad dressing all day every day!
Seriously, how many times must I say this... You are one helluva crafty bitch!

You are too right! My brain always gets in the way. Going with your instincts won't steer you wrong - your bad taste blonde being a case in point. Love!
Your craftiness is cheered. Love your kitsch bag and thingamabob chest.

We are twins indeed today. Though I have nothing in the way of creative effort to show off. I threw my attempt at a junk modelling caterpillar in the bin after my friend laughed. Sonny and his Asian friends were the only ones in the class to turn up without an 'eco mini beast'.
I love dressing like it's a bad taste party if only to see the mum's faces at the school. They're not sure whether it is tongue in cheek, style or just bi-polar disorder. Neither am I.

Hooray for blondes, boo.that you don't have a driver yet, like Vix. Learning is for losers.

I love your style it's a revelation, it's like seeing Anne Nicole Smith In Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and this is definitely brilliant! I dig blonde hair, it's my dream to go platinum blonde sooner or later and it looks divine on you!
I love the green 80's accessories extravaganza , the exotic pink flamingo trousers and the granny on acid denim vest! Bravo! The suitcase is so cool I fainted! Great decoupage works!! Thank you for being always so inspiring!
Lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I tried bleached blonde for about a year, but the upkeep was murder so I went back to colour. I did like the crunchy texture of my hair though ;) The transformation of the chest of drawers is quite fab - three cheers for DIY!

Ooo, I love a bit of decoupage! I have a case I've been planning to put a Shiva poster on to for the longest time!!!! Your case looks amazing, that camp poster is tooo fabulous!
OMG! Yes! I hate it when I really, really try to look awesome but fail miserably, and you are so right! Dressing badly (with aplomb) IS the only solution!!! You are a star!
Mmmm, bleach blonde. Great inspiration. I was contemplating how I would look as a blonde just the other say. I was in fact born blonde, white blonde, but went mousey about age 13.
Rock the hell ON,baby!

Hey, blondie! You look flashy and trashy and über-blonde and sexy and fabulous, Clare. Loving all the colour and the denim and the 80s inspiration.
You've been decoupaging up a storm, darling, the case and your drawers (ooh) look wonderful.
Driving, yuk! Don't fret about it, I'm sure it will get better. You're fab! xxxxx

Hehehe This look reminds me of a SAUCY 80 year old Florida living Casino granny who spends all her cash at the SLOTS & WEARS feather boa's as a daily accessory. (She chain smokes too) ;) *lol*
I love your decoupaged stuff.

If this is you trying your hand decoupage, I'm sincerely looking forward to the day when you feel you've mastered it :)
Your transformed chest of drawers look absolutely smashing, as if done by a pro.
Went to the Tate Modern to take in the Lichtenstein: A Retrospective exhibition today and for some reason you and Edie Pop where dancing around in my thoughts whilst I was walking around...must be the fabulous arty vibe :)
I dig your bad taste blonde look, you really rock it...xXx

I am totally dry-humping the keyboard for that green visor and those fecking awesome pants baby!!!!!!!!! Bleach blondes are the best kind of blonde. The more fake-looking, the better (thank you Dolly Parton!). I have to show The Stylist your decoupage miracles ... absolutely amazing transformation on the craft crap chest!!!!!!! Tah-Dah! worthy! Where does one find a real man who has manicured eyebrows, rouged cheeks, the perfect pout, waved hair AND a perfect mo? xoxoxoxoxooxoxox

Ooh I love this look Clare, it makes me think trashy American tourist which is a style I have tried to master a few times I like it so much. I've seen Anna Nicole Smith, Dolly Parton and Courtney Love all mentioned and all those ladies are stupendously great, so you're in good company with your newly blonde hair. Your decoupage is great too, I especially love the gentleman on your sewing case. xx

You don't half make me laarf, Miss Simmonds. Look at you with your visor and your attitude. Classic. I love bad taste full stop, so much more fun than good taste. Those leggings are rather a sunny delight.

Just love the way you've pimped up those wotsits. Decoupage! Your drawers look great ;)

Good choice of suicide blondes. Debbie Harry was my heroine when I was a young teen. Parallel Lines was the first album I ever bought with my own money. Still love it. xxx

A gal can never have enough color in her life and I absolutely love how you never shy away from that and make bold choices with your outfits. I would totally wear this look 100%. Those pants are killer gorgeous!

Now I'm feeling the need for some decoupage :-)

You fabulous trashy slag! Love the pink floral pants SO FRICKIN much - in fact, the whole look is splendid - the visor is the PERFECT finishing touch. And as for your fabulous decoupage, well, you know how I feel about sticking things onto other things - if only you had also painted part of it with some glitter nail polish, it would have been the PERFECT wedding gift!

Why was your driving lesson so terrible???

LOVE YER BITS Sarah xxx

I used to love decopage when I was a kid. I made the ugliest jewellery box covered with pictures of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. Yours decopage is far superior to mine. I love the sewing suitcase. The beret with the pom pom kills me. I don't know what you mean about dressing badly because I think you look fabulous in those floral pants.

Sometimes dressing badly is the only way. :) I love your decoupage chest! And the case. I do decoupage from time to time. I take spells of doing lots of stuff and then getting overwhelmed with it and moving to something else. I enjoyed catching up on your blog this evening. Love the butterfly headpiece! The skirt is so pretty! And SO much fun to see your blog-friend-get-together!! I am jealous, as usual!
