I'm sorry but there is only one outfit photo in this post! You know when you're not quite in the mood and looking your best? Anyway, I WILL definitely be posting some more in the week.

I'm sorry but there is only one outfit photo in this post! You know when you're not quite in the mood and looking your best? Anyway, I WILL definitely be posting some more in the week.
This dress is from BHS (British department store with frumpy reputation), I was really surprised it was such a gorgeous fit. I picked it up in a charity shop
One of my favourite blog grrrrrlls Lucy Nation also owns this dress
The pink boots were from ebay, I've always wanted a pairof pink (or white) knee high boots, these are a bit cheapy but they do the job.
60s Spanish fan from church bazaar, glass stag from charity shop, plastic deer head from charity shop and fuzzy animals from church bazaar
The classic Audubon's Birds Of America, Norman Messenger's Making Faces, Virgin Mary statue and fake flowers all from the church bazaar and Scottish doll from Oxfam
This terrifying clown was only £1
I picked up loads this weekend and I've got some clothes to show off later in the week, I also got this unopened make up set with tonnes of eye shadows, lipgloss (never wear that though) and fake eyelashes
Sorry this wasn't massively exciting! I've been a naughty girl ebay-wise so I'm waiting for some exciting stuff to arrive.
I've had this wonderful song stuck in my head all week
Big love!

Ahha, I have the exact same dress. Also bought in a charity shop. I wore it here http://talesfromthefarawaytree.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/back-to-school-blues-and-shiny-new-shoes.html.
It looks fab on you dear and I love the way you've styled it with the 60's style boots. That scary clown is something else. I would definitely have bought it but I'm not sure I could actually bear to look at it! I'd have to hide it somewhere. I love the deer and the Spanish fan too xxx
you always pick up the cutest things! <3 x
I'm so glad to have found your blog. I really like you a lot. You look great (as does your funky blog). I LOVE your pinky, blonde hair. My hair used to be that colour and I miss it a lot. Weep!
Good eve to you,
Sammy xxx
Great dress, I was sure I seen it on Lucy and already like it on her, I'd love to find a similar one, the skater line has always a wonderful fit and the black and pink roses print is beautiful!!The pastel pink boots are so kawaii they give a modern style to the grunge inspired outfit and they perfectly match your hair! That Scottish doll is really something, amazing finds, you should cover in glitter that deer head or work on it in your awesome style and the Norman Messenger's Making Faces book is divine,I love, love everything you bought, included the clown that reminds me of my blanket when I was little that my dad had handmade for me (yes, it explains so much about me..).
Love xxxxx
Big love back at ya! I love that dress and boots on you. You'll get a ton of use from those boots and then eventually you'll find a higher quality version to replace them with because you'll already know how much you LOVE them.
I did the same thing with some white go go boots. I bought them for a sort of costume and ended up wearing them a ton even though they were cheapy. Eventually I'd love to find some like it in actual light grey leather or something like that.
Don't you look darling in that dress with those sassy pink boots. Let's go kick some ass and look cute doing it! You always find a bunch of weird stuff too, the clown perfect example. I have been a bad ebay girl too, can we just blame the weather? I always wanted to like Courtney even if she is a train wreck, but honestly when I see her I just see a dead Cobain. I know I should really get over it. Have a good week sweetie!
XOXO
Love that dress on you! How cool to see Lucy in it too!
Spanish fan and deer = excellent finds!
Looking forward to seeing the naughty new stuff!
Dearest Clare,
I love you dress with pink roses and pink boots♡♡♡ Pink is my my most favorite color, have I said it before? Love the song you pasted♬♬♬
Lots of love and hugs from your Japanese friend, xoxo Miyako*
I thought that pic of Courtney Love was you when I first clicked on. You look so cute in that dress with your matching hair and boots :) That spanish fan is loooovely! xx
BOOOOOOTS!! Lush and pink and bloody fab. That frock is a bit of alwight too. I do love the stuff you find. Have you got a shelf or two of crazy crap? You know the sort of thing I mean. I love my shelf of crazy crap...ot makes me smile and revolts a few people every now and then. I've been a bit ebay naughty too, but what the feck!
You are a sassy minx you are.
Em
xxxxxxx
Love the dress and the boots! Enjoyed listening to the song - not one I'd heard before! Scottish doll and deer - fabulous finds!

Sure, so there's only one outfit photo OF THE BEST DAMN OUTFIT EVA!! I love, love, love the boots so much and with the frock and tights they're bloody swoon-worthy. I saw three huge framed clown tapestries today and shuddered ... I just couldn't do it. Maybe if they were smaller like yours though. I love having a virtual poke through your charity shop finds, the virgin Mary and glass Bambi are gorgeous:). xoxoxo
Oh don't talk to me about ebay, what is it about this time of year?! Bring on the show and tell!!
That dress is fabulous on both you and Lucy! Who'd have thought it was BHS?? Those boots are gorgeous, you'll track a posher pair down before you wear them out, I'm sure of it!
Loving the Spanish kitsch, the plush animals and stag's head. I can't resist tat either, comes from being brought up by people with impeccable taste, I reckon.
I've bought a couple of things off eBay lately, too. Everyone seems to be in a C word frenzy and are blind to fabulous psychedelic frocks! xxx
Gorgeous frock, Clare, you and Lucy should be in a girl band together! You look cute and sassy (ha, just mis-typed "assy", shouldda left it in!) especially with the groovy chick go-go boots.
You do find some hilarious stuff, love the stag and Mad Floral Mary, but you can take that clown away NOW!
What have you bought from Ebay, you naughty girl? Show us!
PS. You old folky you - can't beat it! xxxxx
What a cute dress. I have no clue what BHS is, it sounds like one of those stores you hope you never get a gift card from. Geez, I must be the only one who hasn't
bought anything from from ebay. As a matter of fact, I've only ever bought one thing, a 9x12 foot Persian rug! Go big or go home, I guess.
you both rock that dress and gosh i love your lace up boots!
and courtney love looks hot here too;)
kiss,mary

I knew I had seen that dress somewhere before, you look fabulous in it. Just as Lucy looked in her's. *wooooot*
P.S. I love fuzzy animals
Ooooh, that dress looks gorgeous on you! (and Lucy too!) What a find!
You found some hideous looking bric-a-brac, that clown IS seriously scary!!!! Just out of interest, where do you store all the bric-abrac???
Hope you are well! x
The frock is FABULARSE on you - and on Lucy too! Love your deer treasures and THE MARY and the fab makeup! LOVE!!! Sarah xxx
Love how you've teamed this dress with the pink boots Clare, you and Lucy both look great in it. Love a bit of folk music too, I'm just an old hippy at heart. I always like seeing your charity shop finds though I don't do clowns either, that sounds wrong doesn't it, well I definitely wouldn't do a clown anyway, they are definitely not in my crush list. Sorry I've been so bad at commenting lately, have had a houseful of sick kids and Jake is trying to sabotage the computer as I type this. xx
Your posts are always so much fun, you can find everything: pretty dresses, bargain fins, music, art, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
You are FABULOUS!!!
I love how you and Lucy have both styled the same dress completely differently, and you both look amazing!
Good purchases too :)
Lxx
You got some awesome loot thrifting--and that freaky clown picture is gonna give me nightmares!!
The dress is adorable on you and those pink boots are KICK-ASS AWESOME!! i had a similar pair in black (3"heel) that I adored-but alas after my fall last year can't wear heels so they went to a friend!! I want a flat pair now!!
yeah!
FARK, you look a bloody TREAT in this adorable frock! I love LOVE this entire outfit, you are frigging ROCKING it! Hot to trot!
I want your plastic deer head and the fan, dammit.
I never get my anus waxed, the thought of it just makes me cringe, yet my waxer nearly always asks if I want it done.NO! I do NOT! Ugh.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Fabulous outfit. Those boots are awesome. Your hair looks really good. That clown is the stuff of nightmares.
Brilliant buys im loving the 50's glass murano stag as you know i collect these i haven't seen that one though. Have a great week, dee xx
Love the frock on you both. Lucy is right: it does have a 90s feel to it. And the Mary Janes she brought you featured in another post are to die for! Xo
