So this will be quite short because my head hurts quite a bit, but I really wanted to share some presents from the gorgeous Lucy of Small Talk
On Wednesday I came home to the most ginourmous parcel, inside that were several other parcels...
Please ignore my messy bed - make bed or open parcels, it was a difficult decision
Hello Kitty Milk Jug!!!, lovely tapestry clutch/purse, pencil case that makes my brain happy, now filled with plastic insects etc for art purposes. Hello Kitty pen!
a 60s mazi waistcoat! always wanted one of these and a deliciously smooth silk shirt
She also sent me....
I know, I'm scared too.
Even more wonderfully, she sent me a piece of her own art. A lovingly made shadow box. I adore it. It's by my bed at the moment. I'd like it to go on my wall, but my 50s semi is made of a substance that is pretty much impervious to anything but drilling so putting up pictures can be a tricky business.
Thank you so much Lucy, you wonderful woman!
I forgot to post this, or if I did, please forgive me....
This is was cool but boring toned necklace - gold and bronze flowers, yawn. I decided to get at with my acrylics and hey presto!
Charity pickings were slim last week though I did come back with these lovely book ends for £1.50, they have a handmade 40s look about them.
Don't panic, there's a sexy outfit post coming up....
This two tone 80s wool/poly mix dress was £3.50, bargain. I wore it to an exhibition opening at my friends' studios in Wycombe.
Scarf - charity shop
Jacket and stole - Masqueryde
Dress - Charity shop
Tights - Primark - they actually stayed on.
Shoe - ebay
bag - charity shop
Lisa looking lovely with her envy inducing Heidi plaits.
My friend and one of the judges Paul Kindersley a stunning pink jumpsuit and wool cap, chats to the winner of the Angelika Open competition
SERIOUS ART TALK. With my ex tutor and judge Danny grinning in the background
This was a favourite of Lisa and I, some hair on a tapestry cushion!! Yeah it has a proper name but I can't remember.
I tried doing some art of my own this week, but all did not end well. Or did it?
God, I Am Troubled started off with a plain white background, I dislike too much plain white. It says IKEA to me.
Now, I'm the one that's troubled since not measuring up the writing correctly, the piece is more Roubled than Troubled. ART TANTRUM ALERT.
Yes, I have Diva art tantrums and depressions.
What do you mean, yeah we know?!
Love you! I'm off to read some book on how to over come your art angst, sent to me by the wonderful, Joni James
Lucy also sent me this, hope you enjoy...

Fabulous. Exciting parcels are the best, especially exciting parcels containing lots of smaller exciting parcels! I want that Hello Kitty milk jug and tapestry purse :) xxx
You look frigging DIVOON in that minty coat and wonderful mix of colour!!!
EEEK! A lovely parcel from that lovely Lucy! So much goodness.I really love the tapestry purse, it makes me moist!I love her shadow box too, and yours...I'm inspired...but considering I can't seem to finish much of worth at the moment, I will supress that inspiration until I have some time off!

I thought that post was shorter than usual, ha ha. Glad I came back cos that Losers video is fascinating. I think it needs a few more viewings. I couldn't see the other one cos I'm not on Facebook:(
Check you out with your artwork and art shows. You look fab as always. That mint green coat and leopard stole is making me very jealous! xxx
Always your posts are filled with so many inspirational things. Your art and your minty coat with those awesome shoes float to the top of the list. I like the hair on the tapestry cushion too. And the spider and Queen Victoria in the video, I love that twisted warped world view and the lyrics! Too much! Love it all.
Oh I love that colour combo frock. You look gorgeous! And what a wonderful parcel of joy too. Those wooden book ends remind me of the ones my Grandpa carved me as a girl. I'm so glad I kept them. Xx
Love the cross pendant the best, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
You are gorgeous.

You look divine in your minty coat, two-tone frock and Mary Janes!
How fabulous is Lucy's art and her parcel (not sure about the evil clown, though)? I'd have ripped that ginormous parcel open before boring old bed making, too! Love that long waistcoat, the wild blouse and the tapestry purse.
As always I adore your art.
I'm off to an art exhibition opening on Thursday, the pressure's on to make an effort as I'm one of the exhibits! I wish I could recreate Lisa's braids.
I'll have to come back to watch the vid, we've put some blankets on the floor to eliminate the draughts in my headquarters and lost the speaker connection. xxxxxx
aahhh wow what a lovely bundle of goodies :-) Love the little jug, pencil case and that frame is gorgeous. Can't wait to see you in the pink waistcoat thats lush. And how gorgeous do you look :-) Love your coat with the fur trim very glam. I really like your frame you have an amazing creative brain. dee xx
I love, love, love that coat! It's gorgeous, how come I never find anything lovely like that? I love going to art exhibitions, I don't seem to have been to one in forever though, which is really amiss, I must pull my finger out and head to my local gallery. I couldn't deal with the clown of death, sorry, far too scary for me. x
Dearest Clare,
Wow, you really had wonderful gifts (Lovely Kitty goods and all)!!! I'm amazed with the shadow box your fried sent you. So GORGEOUS(^_^)彡☆ Lovely coast you got and my husband seemed to be interested in the bookend p;)
Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
I love all Lucy's presents!!Your posts always fill my brain with delight and wonder!!Presents, art galleries, awesome people and your amazing outfits offer me tons of inspiration!Your shadow box is still beautiful and the fact that the work is not neat could be related to the text: I'm a troubled artist (but I look divine)! The exhibition was great and I'm jealous too of Lisa's Heidi braids, she looks like Lolita!I'm jealous too of your perfect combination of mint green-red and blue, they are great with the pale shoes and the head scarf!!
The clown is too cute!!
Love xxxx
Blimey, that's a parcel and a half. Making beds? Ugh, I never bother. Too boring. Love the coat and the pendant is a work of art. xx
Art Tantrums are completely reasonable, especially since your art is so good!
Love the necklace and you look sweet in your outfit. Hm, art openings must be the trend this week. I went to the Fall Student one on Sunday. Some pretty good pieces this time.
HOLY MOLY - I ADORE that coat and whole entire outfit you have on Clare! What a fabulous mix of colors and accessories..seriously :) It goes without saying - your parcel of goodies is perfection and I just love what you did to that necklace too! xo Marisa
You know my thoughts on the sinister clown..... Love what you have done with the necklace you clever stick and I will fight you for the bookends!
You look suitably arty and minxy and sexy for an exhibition opening, daaahhling! Hope you were talking some Serious Art Bollocks too. After you got over your Diva Art Tantrum. Honestly, you creative types, so temperamental...
Love Lucy's parcel of (Lucy) joy, isn't she a sweetheart? The clown is hilarious (not scary at all!) and the shadow box is fab, and the video/song she shared is quite brilliant.
Love your bookends. That sounds like a Carry On/Benny Hill double entendre, but it wasn't meant to be!
Now get over your Divaness and Do More Art! xxxxx
Now that's a fine parcel of goodies you lucky girl! I was once given one of those clowns as a pressie...good choice for a loather of clowns.
I always love your art...we've had the we are all too hard on ourselves conversation I believe!
Love that minty coat and you know I'm mad for your necklace.
Big kisses.
xxxxxxx
This was such a tasty post Clare, I'm having a hard time taking it all in. The parcel from Lucy is filled with so much love, she not only knows you but totally gets and loves you!!!! The tapestry purse is divine with those bright colors and her shadow box is amazing!!!!! Handmade things are the best and yours is cute too! I think creativity comes and goes so don't be so hard on yourself after all you look friggin amazing in all your color and people should just be happy when your brightness lights up a room. You are living art! I'm sure you were the best dressed at that Art show!
Lotsoflove~
*EEeep* What fabulous gifts you got. The Hello Kitty jug is so cute.
That clown would scare the pants off my guy! He gets ANGRY even if I joke about buying something that is clown when we are in a thrift store.
HELL you look great in that green coat. I <3 it.
Oooh, love that funky coat! She sent you some real loveliness, especially the tapestry purse! Lovely to come home to (I'd choose the unmade bed option too!)
Sorry to hear you are still feeling unwell. Love the kawaii inspired necklace makeover and all the lovely goodies. You are looking amazing! Is the poster stuck to the bottom of your shoe like toilet paper??haha Not so sure about the hairball.
I am having a giveaway if you would like to join in. Hope you are felling better, Tam x
oops..feeling!
Thanks for the Heidi braids love!! You looked so amazing on Friday even though you were ill.
Lovely pressies from people, lucky girl.
xx
Pretty unanimous on the clown!
Well, I think that pendant, artwork and (fucking fantastic!) 80's dress need a new home. Mine! Throw the coat in too.
Seriously though, you're your own worst enemy - you're clever, funny and talented so just ENJOY your art. That night at the gallery looks terrifying, I'd get pissed, talk nonsense and feel full of shame the next day. I get all nervy around intellectual creatives!
That dress is rocking the fucking kasbah, lovely! In fact, love your entire outfit from head to toe. I'm putting 'Roubled!' on a tshirt! darling - please please please do some tantrum art and YAY for fab parcels. And you. And art. And love. Sarah xxx
Looks like those pressies suit you to a t, and I;m loving the sexy outfit post, raaawr!!!
Wow what an amazing parcel!! That clown is very freaky though...!

Loving the Necklace you Enhanced!
Dawn... The Bohemian
Amen to both your posts above Clare! It always astounds me how truly miserable people must be with their lives to say the ignorant things that come out of their pie holes. Your two dresses in the post above look completely fabulous on you (holy moly those legs!) & make me want to experiment more with pastel hues. I love the shorter lengths on you! You have some of the best vintage pieces I've seen around :)
first of all, i am halfway thru my packet of custard creams while reading your 2 recent posts and i gotta say... ya go gurl ;)
Oh you poor thing, I feel badly that you felt you had to disable comments for the above posts. First, let me say that the lavender dress from above rocks on you - beautiful dye job and I think your legs look rocking. I hope you are comfortable with the look - that's really the most important thing, isn't it? Second, you are so right: this is your bloody blog, your bod, your mind, and you can say whatever(and delete comments of whomever) the heck you want. Your blog does not have to be a mouthpiece for other peoples' views and issues. Hang in there, Clare. xoxo
