Ultimate Pastel Joy*

Unfortunately I came across this fantastic haul of clothes after a sad event at work.... My boss's little puppy died unexpectedly. She was devastated of course. I tried my best to console her but luckily there were those better experienced on hand to help.

It really was heartbreaking, furbabies mean so much. I would've been just as inconsolable.

Not to be callous, but I now move on to my unplanned shopping trip. I was a bit dazed and tearful as I wandered into a charity shop, hoping for a big distraction. I was lucky....

First thing I spotted was this dress! Handmade and probably late 60s.

Then came the best thing I have found in ages... I very rarely find trousers, let alone peach polyester 1960s American ones with creases down the front...

Sorry about the shoe lace - I think they're spectacular!! The mint green top was also from the same haul.

Like a tigerrrrr, rrraaarrrgghhh!!

Your lovely compliments may have unleashed a monster - I think I look fab! This is an 80s M&S skirt

I also picked up two American skirts made buy Alfred Dunner, who it looks like, is still going

I love this skirt too, especially with the shirt Vix sent me

This skirt I'm least sure about, I think it needs taking up, which is what I'm demonstrating in the second photo!!

It took me a while to feel normal again - hormones did NOT help. But what did was SPARTACUS VENGEANCE - I've seen the first series and the sequel. Was also saddened by the death of Andy Whitfield. It's a great series - the tits and bums and front bits, the graphic sex and violence, over use of the words "COCK" and "PURPOSE", all that swearing, all that sex, the idiosyncratic dialogue and the slo-mo, so much slo-mo - have I convinced you to watch it yet?

I have a girl crush on Lucy Lawless

I'm not such a bit fan of the boys - though I do rather fancy Craig Parker and Manu Bennett, though the latter does seem to have his mouth open all the time.

This programme is fantastic therapy! Though I badly miss John Hannah in it.

Have a great Easter/Holiday!

I can't believe none of the channels I get are showing this film!!! BASTARDS!

*****************I amended this blog entry as I was not happy with the shift from tragedy to me leaping around in polyester, I hope this version is more respectful but also more lighthearted. Damn emotions getting in the way of decent blogging!***********************************

WOW! SO MUCH GOODNESS! Such awesome finds! You look FABULOUS in everything! That dress is absolutely DARLING! It's like it was made for you. :D And those skirts!!! I've used a crap ton of exclamation points..lol

I'm so sorry to hear about the puppy. Such an unfortunate and sad event. I'm incredibly emotional when it comes to animals--I completely understand. I can't imagine what I would do without my babies. Hugs to everyone.

Easter Parade is one of my favorites! Fred and Judy are so beautiful in this film..I really loved them together. I love Judy on Better Luck Next Time..maybe there's a site where you could download it?

Happy Easter! XO

You my dear look so stinking cute not only in all of these fabulous finds but you have a confidence that you can see in your smile. You go girl! I'm totally gonna watch this show as it sounds like 300 which still gives me goosebumps when I think of all the hot guys in it.

Obviously you think you look fab because you DO look fab! Peach polyester? Mm. That first dress is a fave. In all, a most excellent haul!

I am hankering for an Easter bonnet.

And the loss of the puppy, well, I have no words. I understand the trauma. It's hard to switch gears from FABULOUS to I'm so sad, but it's a tragedy I can't let slip without condolences.

What a haul! Nothing like the thrill of finding more than one item of vintage finery in one day. I love your taste, very fond of the St Michaels skirt and the trousers - I never find trousers either.
Maybe, as sad as the puppy tragedy is, the day ended up more positive for you as a result. Embrace the hormonal rollercoaster - gives us the edge over our competitors.

what a cracking haul, well done you despite the sad circumstances funny how things happen like that sometimes.

The Man watches Spartacus all the time, but says it's not the same since the death of poor Andy.

What a fun find! Ah, nothing like a little retail therapy, don't you think? The skirt did look nicer a little shorter. Good eye.

Oh poor little pup. I get more dewy eyed over my furbabies than the human kind - ha! Such a good mother...
But despite the trauma, you managed some good chazzin', Clare! Look at you, you've got your mojo working again, Miss S!
Polka dots? Yes please!
Peach trousers? I'm seeing tucked-in shirt and scarf at the neck, a bit air hostess or Margot Ledbetter, what do you reckon?
Skirts? Fabulous, fit you like a dream. I agree about shortening the last one, maybe add some lace trim round the hem for added girliness?
Great finds, good for you - you tigress! xxxx

Sometimes blogging helps to heal those sad and/or hormonal bouts ... I don't know why, but it's hard to be sad when styling up a freakalicious bargain frock. It's a real pick-me-up when bella's LIKE YOU say such lovely, heartfelt comments too. It takes the sting out of the yuk doesn't it? Meanwhile, I'm going to have to steal your dotty frock and buy myself a giant lollipop to suck on - hehe! As for the peach trews, if you EVER get sick of them, Brisbane is but a plane-ride away - haaaaaaa!!! I LOVE them! Oooh I like Curtise's suggestion of the neck scarf - she knows how to rock a scarf! The knitwear would look awesome wee scarf tied at the neck too - coz you have fabbo booboids! Thanks so much for you kind words about the shop, postage for up to 250g to the UK is AU$12.50 - one headband weighs about 90grams. Woohoo! xoxoxoxxoxo
